Walking with Dorothy Wordsworth

Dorothy Wordsworth was a author, diarist and mountaineer. When she and her brother, William, moved to Grasmere in 1799, she wrote what became known as the Grasmere Journals. These passages chronicled the pair’s life together in Dove Cottage.

This campaign, in collaboration with the Wordsworth Trust, shares Dorothy’s joy and passion for the Lake District. Grasmere Women’s Institute and friends read passages from Dorothy’s journal in the locations that inspired her.
